Well I was fatigued from yesterdays riding, but I cannot blame my poor time on that. Oh, I finished 10K in 1:05:37. Not too great. I am not a very strong runner and had not run in about 8 or 9 days. I am thinking that did not help, but also after the ass kicking day of riding yesterday I cannot really complain. Main thing I learned from this event is recovery is very important Before the 15K next month I will take off about 3 days prior to the event. Note I will not be slacking for 10 days prior also. I need to stay active and continue the pursuit. The only way to get better is to devote the time to it and be aware of required rest day. I am feeling sore from the run and bike but no injuries which is good.
Also note I went out to wimpy and should have put more into the first 5K. I kept the heart rate down thinking I would need the energy to finish, true, but don't hold back so much. Anyway, I know this is a bit of rambling and mostly just my thoughts, but I promised a post. Sunday will be my recovery day.
